Congratulations to Care Plus Group’s Moving, Handling and Ergonomics Co-ordinator, Manda Wells, who has been named the winner of the Rising Star Award at the National Back Exchange Excellence Awards 2026.
This prestigious National award recognises emerging talent and celebrates individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and achievement within the field of Moving and Handling.
Open to professionals with less than three years’ experience in the field, the award recognises those who have already made a significant impact on their organisation, colleagues and the people they support. Despite strong competition from nominees representing large NHS trusts and organisations across the country, Manda’s contribution stood out to the judges.
This national recognition is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the positive difference Manda continues to make across Care Plus Group.

“I am absolutely thrilled and grateful to have received the NBE Rising Star Award. I joined the Moving, Handling & Ergonomics team three years ago, with no previous clinical experience. It has been a rewarding journey of learning, growing, and developing new skills made possible with the support of my family, friends, my line manager, Vicky Henderson, who has been phenomenal in supporting my career development, and colleagues across Care Plus Group. My focus has always been on helping staff to work safely and efficiently while helping to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients and service users. I am incredibly proud to receive this recognition and look forward to continuing to contribute to that work.”
