Care Plus Group is proud to work with The Prince’s Trust

More young people are being supported into a variety of health and social care roles thanks to a partnership between Care Plus Group and The Prince’s Trust.

Following a successful first contract, Care Plus Group’s Employability Services have been awarded a second, supporting young people between 16-30 years old into the health and social care sector. The contract involves pre-employment support and programme delivery, supporting young people into employment opportunities and supporting them to sustain those jobs.

The target for the first contract was 50 job or apprenticeship starts, but Employability Services were successful in getting over 80 young people into employment within the health and social care sector.

“The health and care sector is currently facing significant shortages and skills gaps, which if left unaddressed could reach crisis point”, said Sharon Stead. “This project is supporting local health and care organisations to grow their own workforce by tapping into people from diverse backgrounds. The pandemic has made recruitment issues worse and young people have been particularly affected, hence the support for them to gain employment is vital.”

She continued, “Employability Services has been established as a training and recruitment hub for 15 years so we know the local area and have links with partners and the Job Centre Plus. It is why it made sense to deliver the contract locally on behalf of The Prince’s Trust.”

Richard Garnett, Head of Health and Social Care Partnerships at The Prince’s Trust, has said about the partnership, “The Prince’s Trust are delighted to be working in partnership with Care Plus Group, supporting the next generation of health and care workers into sustainable employment. We look forward to building on the early success of the partnership, helping many more local young people to fulfil their potential.”

Care Plus Group is proud to work with The Prince’s Trust to support young people into health and social care roles.
