CIU Goes Green with New Solar Panel Installation

As part of our ongoing commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and building a more sustainable future for our communities, we’re pleased to share that solar panels have now been installed on our Community Inpatient Unit.

Since the installation, we have generated 4,346.20kw of power and we are using 100% of the energy we are generating. The energy we have saved is the equivalent of planting 51 trees!

This investment supports our Green Plan by helping decarbonise our estate through renewable energy generation, lowering our reliance on traditional utilities, and reducing long‑term operating costs for the organisation.

We look forward to sharing the positive impact this will have on our energy use and environmental footprint going forward.
