Kim experiences the healthcare sector and it’s all smiles.

Employability Programme Coordinator; Tracy Chaplin from Care Plus Employability Services, first met Kim when she was looking to return to work following a break from her phlebotomy role and foster parenting. Utilising Kim’s existing skills and knowledge of the care sector, Kim has been supported to undertake a voluntary placement with Shiney Thomas (Practice Manager) at Healing Surgery.

This is part of the GP Admin programme created to support our local Primary Care Centre Networks to train their own future workforce via a robust voluntary placement offer.

Following a recent review with Kim, she reports that her “… confidence in the new administration role has increased immensely, and this is definitely a career (she) wants to pursue moving forward”.

Tracy Chaplin added, “Kim has embraced this opportunity well and with the fabulous support from Practice Manager Shiney (Thomas), has demonstrated its benefits to support career change”.

Kim continues to enhance her skills via the placement whilst receiving support from Employability Services to move into her next paid employment role within this area.
