Clare’s story is a powerful reminder of what determination, courage, and the right sup-port can achieve. Despite the challenges of living with a learning disability, Clare has never let anything stand in her way. Her drive to be independent and her passion for helping others inspired her to pursue another volunteering role – and she succeeded.

With support from Tina at CPG’s Employability Services and Gerlind, Speech and Language Therapist in the Community Learning Disability Team, Clare secured a new placement at The A World in Grimsby. She now volunteers two mornings a week, growing in confidence and skill with every shift.

A huge part of Clare’s success is thanks to Kathy, the shop manager, whose kindness, encouragement, and warm welcome have helped Clare feel at home from day one. Kathy has created a supportive environment where Clare can shine.

Clare is thriving – gaining valuable work experience, meeting new people, and making a meaningful contribution to her community. Her journey shows customers and the wider community that with the right support, people can achieve their goals and unlock new opportunities.
