The Community Nursing Admin Team are “the backbone of the Community Nursing Services” and support both patients and nurses daily.
This small team take in thousands of calls throughout each month and have also managed to answer as much as 85% of these calls, with 98% being within 30 seconds. This is a significant number of calls they are dealing with whilst fitting in their other duties.
We asked Georgina, Operations Manager – Nursing, what her thoughts on the team are. She said:
“They are going through some real challenging times at the moment but are still managing to do an amazing job. They are the backbone of the Community Nursing Services and without them, we would not be able to deliver the services we do. They support patients and nurses on a daily basis. They have undergone some changes recently and have felt under significant pressure, but as I have said they manage to continue to provide high quality services.
“These incredible figures demonstrate how busy they are. Bearing in mind, this only takes into consideration the call handling and not the other elements of their role, which are vast and include site support to the community nurses ensuring all equipment is up to date. They manage ordering of stock, uniforms, just to name a few – there are just so many others that they do!”
We asked Gail, Senior Administrator of the admin team for her thoughts on her experience. She said:
“Although the situation we are currently in is very difficult to cope with, the whole team have really pulled together to help each other out and we feel proud to be part of such a lovely team.”
We also asked Danielle, Senior Administrator of the team about her experience. She said:
“I’m sure if you’ve ever had cause to access our service, you will know just how fabulous and knowledgeable the team are! Even though we’re currently working with reduced staffing the team have really pulled together and demonstrated just how passionate they are when it comes to looking after our patients!”
