Care Plus Group’s hard-working Intensive Support Team have taken on new training packages, that will allow them to train new support methods to other local support services.

Over the past few months, all 8 members of staff from the Intensive Support Team have worked hard to complete their studies in the Positive Behaviour Support & Coaching in Practice Programme. They have all now successfully completed the Redstone Training Programme and this week all gained ‘Train the Trainer’ certifications. This will enable them to facilitate the future delivery of the CPG mandatory PBS training package. The team will also be offering this training to local providers, with a view to promoting PBS practices to improve quality of life for the local LD community.

The team are proud to be able to take the lead in providing PBS training to the CPG staff and the local support providers. This will go towards our aim to raise the future standard and quality of care provided to people with Learning Disabilities within North East Lincolnshire.

Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, Teresa, from the Intensive Support Team, recently completed this training.

When asked about her experience on the course, Teresa said:

“The understanding of behaviours that challenge has changed considerably since the introduction of Positive Behaviour Support Approaches. It has changed the focus from aiming to reduce these behaviours to looking towards more person-centred approaches, aiming to improve enrichment & quality of life. This encourages positive outcomes and, in-turn, less reason to use the behaviours that challenge individuals from accessing and engaging in meaningful lifestyles.”
