The Journey to Paid Employment – Holly’s Story

Holly, with the help of the Employability Team, has been able to achieve her goal in gaining a voluntary placement.

Holly was referred to the Employability Services for support to find sustainable paid employment and with the help of Employability Officer Fiona Holly has been able to start as a volunteer Retail Assistant at SENSE charity shop.

Through volunteering at SENSE Holly will be able to gain experience and learn new skills, but just as important to increase her social skills, self esteem and her confidence, all that will help her in her journey to success and paid employment

Fiona Rudrum Employability Officer Added:

Holly has embraced being a volunteer and she is loving learning new skills and with this her confidence has grown
I am very pleased with how she is flourishing

Holly Added:

Fiona has really supported me; I did not realise I was able to undertake a voluntary placement until I joined the Employability Services. I am so pleased that I have, as I have learnt new skills which I hope will lead to paid employment
