“I have experienced both sides of the service at Care Plus Group as a patient and a volunteer. I started to volunteer with Hope Specialist Service in 2023 after completing a Pulmonary rehab course with then, unfortunately later that year I had a stroke which was a setback. As I recovered, I became a patient again, I was welcomed back and now I’m back to volunteering again. I’ve seen both sides of the service and all the hard work that goes into it. I also volunteer my time at the Pilgrim Shed in Immingham where I’m a trainer, help with the maintenance and also a Trustee. Through my experiences in both my volunteering roles I come into contact with people from different communities, I enjoy being able to help them, I’m a good listener and am looking forward to the opportunity to represent them and ensure their views are heard.”
