I have held quite a few different part time jobs over the years, including bar work and driving. I was a leading hand at KP Crisps in the quality assurance department, which included checking peoples work. I then moved to Diana Princess of Wales hospital. I started in HSDU cleaning, sterilising, and repacking instruments from surgical operations. I then moved to medical records where I was emergency admissions clerk. Aged 60 I retired and after a lung operation joined Hope Street Trust and attended the respiratory clinic and rehab gym. A lot of meetings were conducted online during the pandemic and several of us still meet on Zoom.
I am secretary of the Grimsby/Cleethorpes group of Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. I also administer their website and Facebook page. These are all voluntary positions.
For several years, I have volunteered for the Health and Wellbeing Collaborative. I trained to instruct Chair based exercise and Tai Chi. I instruct each week at the Annie Chapple centre social club and also at Bovill House. I now also volunteer with the cancer champions group of the collaborative and try to help members of the public be aware of cancer symptoms. I enjoy reading and using my computer. I like to eat out and enjoy going to quiz nights twice a week.
